Bees spreading pollen?
I have something I couldn't find in the search module....
is it possible for bees to spread pollen in weed plants? I have a plant that hermi'd but after thouroughly checking it over, it looks like only a few pollen sacks grew and may have opened up. Thing is, they are all at the bottom part of the plant but there are portions of the highest part of the plant that are growing lots of seeds. This is indoors and there is no fan down there as heat is not an issue. It gets enough calm air circulation without fans. I never move the plant as I have enough space to look at all of it without needing to so the pollen couldn't have spread those ways.
I have found 2 bees laying around the plant in my basement. Only one portion of the plant is growing seeds but it's the top portions that are growing them that is throwing me off (and no male parts at all on these parts). I don't see how pollen could have gotten to them even though I'm aware how easy air could travel the pollen around, but since it's localized to only a part of the plant, I thought he bees may have done it. I also have the occasional fly and gnat so maybe they carried it over?
Just wondering if anyone could solve this mystery for me. Thanks.BobWeed Reviewed by BobWeed on . Bees spreading pollen?
