    ¿The Shell Question?

    12 days

Well its been about more than a week and my seedling doesn't look that good . Yeah and the shell isn't off yet.

    Is it dead?

    I had 65w 2700k light on the first ten days then two days ago I put a 65w 6500k. So I have a 65w 2700k and a 65w 6500k.

This is how it looks. On the first picture you can see the crack on it.

    ¿The Shell Question?

Doesn't look dead to me. Might be a tough shell to throw off. I have helped them get their shells off before. However, it is very easy to damage the cotyledons (the first couple of tiny leaves). If you damage those, you can set growth back a great deal, if it doesn't kill the seedling.

I'd wait a day or two more. Spritz the shell with water to soften it up a little too. If the shell is still there you may want to consider helping it. The way I do it is to use a safety pin or needle and gently *gently* try to get the shell off of it with the tip of the needle. I can't stress enough how careful you should be, especially if you don't have any other seedlings or plants. If all your eggs are in this basket, be extremely careful. It is generally doable though. I've only harmed one seedling, and I've probably helped a couple dozen seedlings pop their shells off. And even the one I did damage did survive, although it took it an extra couple of weeks to recover and get back to growing normally.

    ¿The Shell Question?

Would a drop or two of water on the seed be ok? Or spritz as in spray the seed?

    Thanks

    ¿The Shell Question?

I don't think it's dead. I have seen seeds sprout in 2-3 weeks especially bag seed

how long has it been showing out of the ground?

    ¿The Shell Question?

Yeah, keep the shell moist if you can, but don't drown the plant itself. How's it looking today?

    ¿The Shell Question?

    get it off , now

if left it will kill your plant , i help em off alot and they always grow

hold the seed between ya wetted fingers and gently squeeze very lightly , i done one yesterday the same way , i thought it was a goner and i was taking it outta the soil to see if i could do it with a pin or sumin, as i held the seed end to pull it out it just squeezed out of the shell .it was white n black and i thought it still needed a day or two in the shell but 5 hours later it had greened up and the cotylodons have unfolded . Be gentle though

it will come off easier than you expected , i have confidence you will be sucessful with this method , ill hang around till you post saying it worked (i hope)
