What's really going on in your brain when you smoke...

Also I question the part of the article that says THC doesn't work on dopamine receptors, I've heard a few things to the contrary. The intense rush from tobacco that many non-smokers get is there because it basically gives you a dopamine blast (with some adrenaline). In my experience this blast makes music amazing for the duration of the effects, in pretty much the same way weed used to for me. And lastly, I talked to a chronic pain specialist and asked her why weed actually aggrivates my spine pain, and she theorized it was because cannabis smoking causes a surge in dopamine and my brain, now with a high tolerance, my be having an accelerated dopamine-reuptake when I smoke weed, causing the aggrivation.
And don't get me wrong, weed is undboutedly one of the safest theraputic substances known to man and a legetimate and effective medicine to boot. But I don't feel it's a valid argument when people argue for weed by saying "your body produces tonnes of cannabinoids anyway". Most hallucinogens and a lot of other drugs work by mimicking chemicals your body produces anyway, and administering them in larger-than-normal amounts.
Just my two-cents.
