Same thing happened here, but mine was broken and really jammed up. I used MAPP gas and penetrating oil WD40. I got the slide warm and burned off all the penetrating oil so the ash catch can grasp the outside wall of the slide and twist out. It worked perfectly. Donā??t get the glass too hot because it may lose rigidity and become brittle.
