New cabinet, lights, and ideasInstead of building a cab, I started looking to buy one lol. And then I was looking in my garage, when I noticed this cabinet. It is already painted white, and the dimensions are (3'2" x 1'3" x 1'9") And it said to me, " I can house your plants if you clean me up". And I agreed. I took out the other clothes cabinet I had in my room, and placed it in the garage. I then cleaned this one, and placed it in my room. Took about an hour total. One side shall be for clothes, and the other area to grow.Anyways I have 1 40watt CFL, 1 23watt CFL, 3 ballasts and reflectors. Also I have a 70watt HPS bulb. What I need to buy now is a is either a ballast for the HPS, or some new CFL's. I was thinking 2 warm and 2 cool 120watt CFLs. 2 cool and 1 warm for veg, and the opposite for flowering. And just putting 1 80mm computer fan for intake near the bottom, and a 80mm computer fan near the lights at the top for outtake. Now in terms of what strain, I was thinking a really bushy indica that I could grow nice short and fat, or ordering some master low seeds and using the lights I already have at my disposal to grow those. Now I have 4 questions.

1. How many plants do you think I could fit in there?
2. How does my over-all set-up sound?
3. Because of my cabs size, do you have any recommendations to whatsoever to make it more successful?
4. How should I go about making the holes to wire everything up? Whatever powertools are needed (as long as they are not too expensive) I can buy.

And if all goes well I SHOULD have the cab up and running by the end of September, wish me luck:rasta: BTW I am leaving out some details such as that I will be using a carbon filter most likely and other small stuff I will keep in the cab to ensure my plants health and well-being.Matt the Funk Reviewed by Matt the Funk on . New cabinet, lights, and ideasYou can get the circle saw drill bits at lowes/home depot/online... They usually come in kits w/ 1/2" - 2 or 3" circumfrances and are pretty cheap. Originally Posted by Matt the Funk Originally Posted by Matt the Funk

New cabinet, lights, and ideasHow can I lightproof my cab? I just set up 1 42watt CFl and sorta stuck it in my cab to see how light proof it was, and light leaks from everywhere!

New cabinet, lights, and ideasCan also get decent hole saw kits, with bits that go all the way up to 6" I think, and definitely 4", on ebay, for cheap; that's where I got my hole saw kit, been using it for couple few years now, works great.

New cabinet, lights, and ideasTo light proof you will need to use mylar or some other reflector over the cracks. Keeping light in a box is difficult. :rastasmoke: Take It Easy :rastasmoke:

New cabinet, lights, and ideasIt's not hard to lightproof a box if you build it yourself; just did that recently. But modifying an existing cabinet to be completely lightproof, that's hard. It's so hard, in fact, that I more or less gave up, which is why I built a cabinet myself and will be building a few more over the next year or so.

New cabinet, lights, and ideasExactly it would be better to build one that shuts nice and tight. But around the door it might work to get that foamy type black tape and go around where it closes to make a a good seal. :rastasmoke: Take It Easy :rastasmoke:
