Just an idea I have used many times.. When you set up your grow take a 1/2 gal plastic milk jug or two and punch 6 or 8 small nail holes around the bottom. Bury this in the same hole as your plants go. When you water also fill the jugs. They will slowly drip into the deep roots over several days and is great when you can't get to your plants for a week or so between watering.. Make sure you put the cap on the jug as the vacuum keeps it slowly drip watering .. It empties much faster with cap off.. Just thought I would pass that little tip along.. Works great...

good post, this is a classic guerilla growing technique... i have used it, MANY times... it allows me to add proper, nutes and ph into the soil, which can be a huge diff depending on site prep

Would it work if you bury the jug, say like 4-5 inches next to a plant..considering my plants are pretty large as it is..I don't want to harm them by having to dig' em up and stick a jug underneath them....Just curious...I have a hard time getting to my plants..not to hard..It's just a bit of a journey that I only manage to make once a week and sometimes every 2 weeks...But they do Ok.

im curious about the same thing i dont wanna dig anyting next to mine up either. but i would wanna do that though sounds like a good idea

Yea bury it 10 or 12 inches away and poke the holes only on the plant side of the jug. The plant will seek out water supply if the soil starts to get dry. The plant will send out new root fibers toward water and will actually grown a root ball and secondary tap root off to the side . Even when starting from scratch bury the jugs around the area say 10 inches or so from where you start the seedling. This causes the roots to spread and cover more area which will also help in getting the last moisture in the soil as it needs it...
