So being like that, I MUCH MUCH prefer it to be illegal than regulated by the govt. FUCK IT, they wont be gettin money off OUR trees.

Rather, I said the otherwise non-toking people would be more open to try it. Being that it would be legal, it would definitely not be as demonized and looked down upon (though, an example of the opposite would be cigarette usage, but that's because everyone knows that there are harmful chemical additives), and more acceptable in general, like alcohol is. Therefore, more people would be open to at least trying it.

Personally, I think it should definitely be legal. Legal to grow, legal to sell commercially with a license. Don't like the tax? Grow your own. I still think that even with the tax that the prices would be lower than they are now. It should be regulated like alcohol. Going to a headshop or something to buy cannabis would be great if you didn't want to grow your own. What's so wrong with that? Not only that, but quality control is also ensured. You don't have to worry about smoking moldy bud, or someone spraying it with salt or sugar, or something. And if you do smoke moldy bud, you would then have the option of filing a lawsuit against the people who were selling it. Can you do that now? Hell no.
Like I said, with the nature of the black market, prices tend to inflate hundreds, if not thousands of times more. So if it was legalized, and taxed heavily, I think we would still be able to get it for cheaper than we do now. Maybe something like the system in Holland should be implemented. Impose a limit per day, per customer... like 5 grams. That isn't bad, either, because you could of course still go to more "coffee shops" and buy another 5g, and so on. Really, legalizing it would totally help our economy... there's no arguing that. If you don't like the tax, grow your own, because in my idea, you wouldn't be taxed on that... just commercial sales.blaze the haze for daze

If only we could all grow in peace. It would do so much. Why are we the only ones that understand this? One day I hope. One day.

I agree with you, Mfgr. You make a lot of valid points.
I personally don't feel our Government and taxation of cannabis is an issue. If cannabis was legalized and decrimalized it would prevent alot of crimes. Having a Black Market is bad in itself. Leaving our beloved herb in the hands of true criminals is not the solution we need. Yes, I also believe that cannabis should be sold in shops like Amsterdam. Amsterdam is an excellent example to follow. For one, the prices would drop. How ridiculous is it to pay $20 for one gram of "haze"? In Amsterdam, you can buy 3 grams of White Widow for about 16-20 Euros, max. Don't want to pay the taxes for buying it, grow your own. You should be legally allowed to grow five plants for personal use. With today's modern methods of growing, you can easily produce enough cannabis with five plants to support you until the following harvest. It's not illegal in the US to grow tobacco. I'm not sure where you got that bit of erroneous information. If you are growing tobacco commercially, you will need a permit. There's no taxation on growing tobacco, just the selling of it. This should extend to cannabis as well. Legalizing cannabis would allow us to produce an unaltered product. Think of the advances in cannabis breeding/genetics we'd be able to make. I'm not saying legalizing cannabis would make the World a better place, but it would make a definite impact on us and our environment.

Why would the government be growing/selling it? Their job isn't to do that, that's not what our tax dollars are meant to go towards lol.
Let the free market take care of it, I say bring on the mass corporations producing millions of pounds of high quality bud a day. We'd be seeing ounces for $50In a free market there would constantly be competition, if the large corporations started spraying their bud down with chemicals like they do tobacco, you could buy from other companies that don't do it, or if you are a true anti-corporate person, grow your own.

If growing for personal use was unrestricted, the overall quality of bud being grown and sold would increase. The government can't control the purchase and sale of cannabis now when it is illegal to grow, what makes you think they could control the purchase and sale of cannabis when everyone with a mind for dealing could start growing their own?
