Yes, a diffuser results in more bubbles, which in turn translates to more surface contact with the water, thus allows for more smoke into the chamber.

There is certainly no question that the diffuser makes the hit "smoother" per-se, but I was wondering in it makes the high any better, or the same. After all, my reasoning is that the greater the volume of smoke into your lungs, the higher you're probably gonna get, right??
sjmikenet Reviewed by sjmikenet on . diffuser/ashcatcher differences Recently I decided to get new goodies for my Roor, and opted for a diffuser and ashcatcher from EDIT. Most ppl say that both of these together would serve to cool the smoke, and generally make it smoother. I find this to be the case, and in fact, it actually makes the bong much quieter, also. The 'blurbing' sound is greatly reduced as a result of having these extra parts on there. I know that some people like the noise a bong makes, but if you're trying to be discreet, this would be a Rating: 5
