Use Clone as Mother, Flower Original? Or Vice Versa?

I intend, when my 8 plants are 4 weeks old, to take 1 or 2 cuttings of each. Then after 1 week, when I'm certain that the clones are taking hold, I will flower my 8 well established plants.

I figure that the clones will be capable of functioning as mothers after 1 month, allowing me to take new clones that will be ready for flowering right around the time those other babies are finishing up... Does that all make sense to everyone? Hope so.

The point is... it seems more logical to keep the well established plants as mothers, but I could potentially cut time till harvest down by 1 month by flowering the already established plants and letting the clones establish their maternal role in the meantime.

Anyone else tried this or have any reason to believe it would not be a worthwhile idea. I have 1 week before I attempt this. 2 weeks before I am irreversibly underway with the plan. So please supply feedback!

that method is the same method many people on these boards including myself use. It is the most efficient in terms of time and also space use. You just have to remember to make sure the clones are sufficiently rooted before you start flowering for too long.

this is my idea too, ill let you know how it works out. it has done well by letting me keep clones and mothers from last winter untill the present. plus a couple for outdoors this summer. it just made more sence since by the time i had took clones and rooted them and they were big enough the original plants were in flower and i knew the sex of the clones because of the moms.

I think your plan is solid, except for the time-frame.
IMHO, I don't think a mother plant will be ready in one month.

Just, keep your plan, but realize it might be 2 months before you can *really* take cuttings from her.
That's just my opinion, not uber-scientific fact.

And if you *do* end up with a mother plant in one month, hey! Kudos!
