Because we have yet to find a method to convert the nuclear bond energy of the bound molecules , We have been able to convert just the H atoms ( though not completely ) and as a result of a conversion of a pound we get energy on the level of 10 Hiroshima war heads... Its called a Hydrogen Bomb... a fusion conversion.. where as Hiroshima was a mild fission conversion.. and O has a greater energy potential than H .. its all in the math..
