IM not getting very good result i was wondering if there is a better way to plant seeds in soil plz help. You should use a set of flouresnt shop lights the metal halide can be to intense for seedlings, but if you are going to use it keep it as far away as possible. and remember to to keep your temps consistent.

i always germinate in paper towels, but some people germinate directly in soil as SP said that light is way too much for a seedling. Also don't keep the soil too wet or you can drown your seedling.

they should be under the soil 1/4" ... do NOT keep the soil too moist, or it can kill the seed with Pythium Wilt , a fungus from staying wet ...

    Ditto-

IR is right, they should most certainly be under the soil (about 1 cm), not on the top.

Pythium wilt can happen before breaking ground? If so, I guess I'm lucky as F%$#! Sup do reaper? All well?

24 hrs of that MH (at a good distance as not to burn em) would be good...

Pythium Wilt can kill a seed during germination, it doesn't have to be sprouting ... always, read ALWAYS have your seed below the surface of the soil, 1/4" is good ... light will kill the taproot, and the seed needs the resistance during sprouting to loosen the shell, and strengthen the stem ... in nature, as with life, anything gained too easily is worthless ... :smokin: (my philosophical smilie)
