You shouldn't have to tie them at all. When they pop their heads above the screen, just gently push them back under, so they're bent over horizontal, until you're ready to let them grow vertically. The screen will hold them down, no tying needed. But if you do need to tie them down, that won't hurt anything, just don't tie them too tightly.

get chicken wire.
I used 2" and it worked fine.
In the amount of time it takes to construct your own screen, you can buy it for like 14 bucks for a 25" roll.

well im kinda hands on any ways i rather take old materials in the shop and garage and see what happens! anyways this screen should work fine im not worried about it falling apart or anything like that!

jams so i am starting to understand now what your sayin i dont have to tie after it grow about an inch or to above the screen ill keep stuffing under screen untill im ready and in my case like you said half full! then ill let the heads come up and flower! thanx man this is gonna be great if it works!

i am wondering if your using compact cfl's and alot of them for veg only how far should they be if i put them 6 inch's above the plant will this make it grow a little faster?

my friend also got something at the store and wanted me to ask yall if you ever heard of it theres one thing that is called SUPER THRIVE its not a fertilizer its vitamins and hormones is this stuff good? it says makes plants grow 2 times faster and sence we added this to the feed they have been doing fine and i think a little faster it says you can add to seedlings also but will just wate

the other one is called BEASTIE BUDS and one of our other friend the person that wanted the hermi so he got it we gave a little of that beastie duds and the super thrive together and the plant has been doing great!!! buds are even growing bigger now and faster now

beastie buds is 0-50-30 and it says just for flowering only just would like to know if any body has had any past with these items
