K so, i searched a little, and i read a few threads here on stuff about smoking marijuana and having asthma.

I myself have had asthma since i was born, and i have been smoking since about the begining of this summer. I have asthma pretty bad. I skateboard, and i exercize a lot, which has helped my lungs and made my asthma much less more dramatic, and my doctor says my lungs are a lot healthyer than the average asthmatic person who doesnt get out too much.


Now, i read some people say that smoking helps them, but whenever i smoke, heres how it goes.

Joints: I can hit as hard as i want, and actually TRY to choke myself out, and it wont happen. This seems to be the best for me, sense i can hit big, and hold them without choking up, or coughing even once.

Blunts: Depending on how big the opening is, i can usually hit pretty big and not have a problem coughing, as long as i hit slow and smooth. However, every once in a while ill choke up, but it only ends up at the end with a little weezing when i get home, and i can usually get rid of it with the inhaler (puffer).

Bongs: I have only smoked out of two different bongs in my life. One is this really high quality, belly button high, $400 PHX bong, that i have smoked out of (my friend has it) like 8 times. I love it, it always gets me freaking BAKED, but i have to hit softly, and its pretty damn easy for me to choke up (for a good minute somtimes even) if im not extremly carefull and thinking when i hit. Ill usually come home and ill be weezing like crazy for the rest of that night, even after i do the nebulizer. It will be incredibly hard for me to sleep. The next day ill wake up and it wont be as bad, and ill have mild weezing till like mabey 4 PM. If it helps you follow what im saying, i only smoke at night (from 8 - 10)

The other bong was only once, and it was this not very big, home made bong out of a plastic cylender tube from a science room, and a socket from a wrench as the bowl. It didnt hit good at all, and i didnt choke at all.

and last but not least....
Pipe: Ive had experience with different pipes, many different times. I usually choke up pretty bad when i smoke from a pipe, unless (just like with the bong) im incredibly careful when i hit. Ill usually come home with the same as what i explained that i had with the first bong, just not as bad.





So, i have noticed by experimenting, that joints seem to be the best for me (asthma wise), and bongs seem to be the worst. But heres the thing. Ive read from the other threads that bongs are the best, since the water filters out a bunch of stuff thats very bad and causes damage to your lungs. Could any of you clarify some of this for me?

Also, i only smoke about once a week (but i smoked 5 times this week :rasta: ), so im not really a constant (daily) smoker.


So i got a few questions.

>How bad is smoking for your asthma? Ive read on this site that its good for it, but for me, my experiences have been quite the opposite. Does it cause any long term damage?

>Whats the most i would be able to smoke without it really being bad for my lungs? Is once a week (somtimes twice, mabey three) too much? or is that safe.

>How bad are bongs? Is it just the way i hit? What exactly does the water filter out?

>Ive also read stuff about filters on pipes. What exactly does this mean?
