Besides making great "medical study" posts, giving advice to the lovelorn and parentally busted, and telling about way back when, in the "hippie days"- I'm an artist, too! Thought you folks would enjoy a bit of my artwork. I'm not sure just which order my son is going to post these, but there is a Chinese style bird on a branch; Quan Yin, the Chinese Goddess of Compassion; a clay bust of Queen Ty (Nefertiti's mother-in-law); and a wall hanging/quilt (one of a pair).The paintings were done this year, but the bust and the quilt are older. Anyway....TaaaDaaa!!!

the bird painting says (or at least, it's what the translating site said it was) "Marijuana, health as a state of being, joy and pleasure". I get to have my little jokes on the straight world! - Granny

I like the painting with the bird. Looks like you've got some real talent. Can you paint me something psychedelic for my kitchen? haha.

I do my art for the joy of it. Plus when I go "mildly manic" I can't help but create! I rarely sell it.

Want to make a painting? What you do is go to the art/crafts shop and they have what looks like graph paper, only it's translucent plastic. Put that on a nice piece of art you like, make a big grid on your paper or canvas, and transfer it! I just sketched it out, then gently erased until it was barely visible. The paintings are on butcher paper stained with tea. The paint is acrylic. With patience, almost anyone can make art like that!

Oh, and there is a poem that is hung next to the painting of Quan Yin, and as long as I'm sharing-

All the tears of the world
Lie in the jade jar
That sits on Quan Yins hand.
Overflowing, the tears
Touch Her sacred hand
Transformed,
They fall like rain
To shine like rare jewels
Adorning the lotus
On which She stands
