First Grow from Bagseed w/Pics

Today is midweek 7 total and mid 2nd week flowering and finally got all 4 flowered. Plant 1 and 4 were killed off a few days ago and tonight plant 2 was killed as it ended up having balls. But plant 3 the wide ass sativa looking one showed "Her" pubes today!!!! I got a pic of her and a few up close pics for you all. So out of the first 4 plants I got 3 males 1 female. Thats ok though didnt really want to grow out to many of the bagseed plants anyway since I have some papaya seeds in the mail! More pics of all the plants on wednesday. Since it turned female and is the only survivor of the first wave of plants I have decided to name her Candice. Picked that name cause i had a huge thing for Candice Cameron from full house back in the day. lame huh. Hang loose.

Just a quick update. I finally got my dual cfl's w reflector. I put 2 warm bulbs in it and am gonna stick it in the grow room tonight for my female. Can anyone tell me if this would be a good light for the price?

Just a quick update. I finally got my dual cfl's w reflector. I put 2 warm bulbs in it and am gonna stick it in the grow room tonight for my female. Can anyone tell me if this would be a good light for the price?

Yeah thats pretty cool.. it isnt THAT strong but its better than ur average CFL... IT puts out 5k llumens... thats pretty good... I would look for HPS though if ur serious about growin.

Just another quick update. My small fungus gnat problem has escalated a little bit so tonight I sprayed them down with soapy water and covered the soil with sand. Dont really wanna use any pesticides unless absolutely needed. More pics to come tommorow.

The benchmark is 50 watts per square foot of grow area.

I finally got motivated tonight and decided to figure out my square footage in the closet i am using. Its just 2 - 2 bulb shop lights leaned from the floor onto a ledge 32" tall. They are on like a 30 degree angle measured length wise across the floor is 38". The width of the 2 shop lights plus the reflector that closes it in is 16".

So if ya figure 38" long x 32" tall X 16" wide i came up with 11.33 cubic feet. Then that number started looking really big to me and i thought about it and finally figured out that i didnt take into account the 30 degree light slope. 11.33 cu ft is the total footage of a square box that size not a triangular one. So i sketched out a pic of it(when i was in school i never figured drafting class would come in handy but i must say i was wrong) and I figure that i have at least 1/2 less cu ft because of the angle of the light. Then i came up with 5.25 cu ft that sounds alot better to me. If the above quote is correct then I should need 280 watts to reach the bench mark. Right now i have 4 - 4 foot fluor tubes at 40 watts each and a dual cfl with reflector with 2 - 25 watt bulbs for a total of 210 watts. So i am about 70 short. I am gonna try to get one more dual cfl and finish the crop with that and see what my yield is. Now that you can understand what i am growing in i'm sure you can understand why i have no room for lights. Also this setup is pretty stealthy which i like. If my calculations arent correct feel free to correct me please.

I recently read a thread titled something to the effect of "$18 First grow good results" so I had to check it out. The dude started out at that total but as the weeks went on 18 bucks turned into over 500 or something like that. This made me decided to keep a tally on my total expenses for this grow. Due to my lack of grow space and lack of funds i am trying to keep this grow as cheap as possible but adequate enough to get decent results. I know alot of people are gonna say i need way more lighting but i just cant do that right now. I am gonna get another dual cfl soon but that will probably be it. I'll finish this grow with that setup then evaluate the situation depending on the yield. I basically
started from scratch with this grow and needed to buy alot of stuff. So heres the list.

Well the start of week 9 is finally here. I cant wait to see the buds develop on candices hot ass. lol. I'll start ya off with a few pics of the new seeds i got in the mail today from Nirvana Seeds. 10 Papaya and i got 5 free Haze x Skunk 1. Is anyone familar with that strain? I'm gonna hold off a bit on germing them basically because of lack of space and figure i better make damn sure with these bagseed plants that i know what i'm doing. Anyways, i placed my order on August 29th and paid with a credit card and received them today. It took less then a week. The seeds are alot smaller then i expected them to be. The bagseed i am growing now, its seeds were twice as big. Anyways total for the 15 seeds cost me $30.

Next are some pics of Candice. She seems to be happy as can be but i didnt get to fert her yesturday because i am letting her dry up a bit to get rid of fungus gnats. Not sure i am gonna do it tonight or wait another day. She loves that new dual cfl setup that i have pointed right at her mid section. Here are some pics of her pubes 2 weeks into 12/12. Shes got about 6-10 sets of pistils showing right now.

Heres my 2nd crop that is a total of 4 weeks old today and 1 week in 12/12. No signs of preflowers yet but i havent really checked them well. I figure its gonna take at least another week for them to show. Then after I sex these 6 and kill the males i probably will germ my new seeds since i'll have extra space. I've starting transplanting these plants slowly one by one over the last few days.

I stopped at Wally World today and hopefully got the last few supplys that i will need but i doubt it.

ive seen that dual cfl reflector on ebay also...it would been a lot cheaper to buy the two and make it urself.
