Weed and Violence (A Thank You)

    Prepare for some stoned rambling...

I've been reading a lot of articles recently about the effects Marijuana has on individuals and so on. I've read that there is a positive correlation with weed and violence.

I've never once have been violent after I've smoked. It really pisses me off what people try to say to get weed even more looked down upon.

Also this got me thinking that this is a very active forum full of people that enjoy recreational smoking. There is very rarely violence of any kind on this forum. Everyone on this forum acts like they are family.

That's one of the things I love about this forum. Everyone helps each other out whenever we have problems and everyone is friendly with one another and especially accepting of new members. I've been on this forum for quite a while now, so I think it's my time to say THANK YOU guys for making this forum such a great place where we can all come to when we're in need.

    Thanks.

Oh haha, I totally drifted from what I was going to ask.

What do you guys think about a positive correlation between weed and violence? I personally think it's just more bullshit set up by the media. Let me know your opinions.

There are occasional expressions of violence here, but we stay on top of those and delete them when we see them. And it's my opinion that when they happen, they don't have anything to do with weed but rather have everything to do with the sort of person who's expressing that urge. There's no doubt that alcohol brings out a lot more of that sort of urge than weed does. I enjoy the fact that this is a largely peacful, supportive community, too.

I think that weed deters violence in that it allows the user to chill out and stop firing so many synapses at once, which in turn helps him/her make less impulsive and rash decisions.
However, if i smoke about a half a bowl of dank before a boxing match, i can absorb hits better and balance alot better.

LOL man, I grew up with some crazy idiots who'd probably be out killing people if they weren't smoking marijuana...weed is at its best a calming force that gives you an amazing perspective on yourself and your actions. I know a guy who once told me that him and his boy were set to stick up a gas station with a loaded gun he got off some dude on his block. They blazed a spliff before they were about to do it cause they figured it would calm their nerves...they ended up talking about how stupid it would be, and how easily they'd get booked over a couple 100 bucks at best.

When was the last time having a few drinks kept someone from doing something stupid?

I see no link towards the two. I am a very violant person but not cause of weed, but from years of people constanly challanging and testing me phyicsly and mentaly. Because I am different does not make me your enemy, however the subject of cannabis alone will make some peple want to call me terrorist, traitor, etc. I like it here as well cause it is like a big smoke out. Usualy every one is cool and every one is different and for the most part we all hate bush (I realy like that).

when I'm blazed, I can even badtrip if I see (or perceive in any way) an event of violence, violence gets me very uncomfortable, so I try to avoid it, specially when I smoke, since I don't wanna have a bad trip.

I think that correlation between weed and violence is bulls**t. And yes, it's very common to watch episodes of violence between drunk people, but I've never seen any violent stuff with people who smoke weed
