Don't know what specs would help.. pot plant.. well feed .. growing great.. Outside in a spot where its direct sun 6 hours a day and shaded a bit the rest of the day. All plants big and bushy and look very healthy over all.. All just starting flowering .. willl admit humidity levels around here are pretty high but its outside and thats one outa my control. Can't find any infestations of creepy crawlies.. You can't rub the black off and its jet black radiating from center of new tips. As I said.. note that the tips that are fully covered start deforming and shriveling up , I have left them on the plant long enough to see if the actually kill the tipps all together as it seems to just keep spreading and I start seeing it on tips around the one thats fully infected so I pick off the tip before that happens now. Leaves are all good color and growth rate is good so I see no issues from a cultivation perspective. a couple of days ago I picked a tip that was turned mostly black and sprayed it with a full strength Spectracide Fungicide untill its was thick covered .. The stuff was heavy enough to Kill the tip but not sure it killed to black stuff.. If I use it in a lighter cover it seems to not effect it what so ever.
Thanks for the links I'll keep looking for answers and if you run across anyone with any ideas pass em my way before I lose this grow from this crap.. PaulQ

I have no idea! But...could that possibly be an effect of big temp drops? I think I remember seeing some reddish coloring on a few girls after some BIG temp fluctuations. I very well could be wrong, but now I'm very curious!:wtf:

Well someone around here has to know. It's a matter of getting the photos and info looked at.
I don't usualy reccomend this but in your case Quantum.....here's what I would do.
Start a new thread titled in caps DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS? in plant problems section and put in your photos and all specs you can think of.... type of soil, day temps, humidity, what are you feeding, how often are you waterng, ph,age of plant, clone, seed etc etc. I'm pretty sure that will get peoples attention.
I think you need a new sales pitch to figure out whats going on here and if think you may need to know fairly soon.
good luck.

Black Tips Help Please
I've never seen that on cannabis plants, but my pepperoncini peppers have black areas like those, isn't harmful, or anything to them ... I know that's no help, sorry ... I've never had a 'purple' strain like everyone is talking about these days, I wonder if that is what's happening ??? ... clueless :wtf:

It can't be the strain....he says it's killing off his leaf tips. Isn't that the weirdest? Now I REALLY have to find out what it is.

Looks purple to me.
So it is actually KILLING the affected tissue? You're certain of that? Because if it isn't killing the leaves... I have a theory.
The rest of the plant looks healthy.
Have you ever seen partial albinism in cannabis? The plants show random patches of white tissue. The fact that cannabis CAN be variegated makes me almost wonder if what you are seeing is simply a purple variegation and it is only coming out now because of temperature changes- have you been dropping into the low 60s at night, or lower?
In the meantime, DO NOT PINCH OFF AFFECTED PARTS!!!! Those are bud sites. You'll kill your yield.
Do you know the strain? Please post it so I can quick have a look and see if any of its near ancestors are known to carry purple traits.

That's what he said a couple posts up....he waited to see what would happen and eventually the affected leaves became shrivled and deformed. Also said it seems to be spreading.
Edit....my bad....they ARE shrivled and deformed...but he's waiting to see if it kills the leaf. He did spray Spectracide on one leaf and killed IT with fungicide but not sure if it did anything to the black stuff.
It's FREAKY huh????
