how do i get the bootom part of lightbulb off? i've tried to drill thru it, cut it, and twist it off. i got some that has like a dark (almost black) type of glaas on it and the metal twisty part.

just take some scissors and twist it of. The first time it is difficult, but you'll manage how to do it. I had some problems the first time too.

Just tried my lightbulb vaporizer, but I think it is a bit of waste of the weed. Okay I'm high, but I think you have a better effect when you do it with a bong or even with a joint. A joint is more pleasont for me. But it was a good experience.

I got two questions:

1. Anyone know a good way to get the built-up THC residue outta the bulb so its still smokable/eatable/useable?

2. Whenever I use salt to get the white off the sides of the bulb, it never comes out perfect, there is still a slight white residue or salt residue left in he bulb. Could I be doing something wrong?

First, if you even have enough residue inside the bulb to use then it's worth it to just overuse the bulb, wait for it to crack and then break the bulb and scrape it. Otherwise just break it right now if you can't wait, these vapes cost less than a dollar and they're basically dispensable. Second, the bulb doesn't really need to be completely clean. If you're worried about the reamaining powder, wash the bulb with water then let it completely dry for a day or more with the opening facing upward to allow evaporation.

You dont want to completely remove the metal from the bulb, however you do need to make a hole in the bottom. Puncture the metal directly next to the black contact area on the bottom of the bulb. You should immediately see how easy it is to push through the metal, then poke some scissors or a knife in there and work your way around the entire black contact point until it is removable. You may have to wiggle it or sever a tiny wire inside the metal part to remove the piece.

I would strongly advise to everyone who care about their health not to use ANY plastic parts on their vaporizer.

The heat produced causes plastic to release toxic synthetic fumes, and you inhale them with the rest of vapor created inside the bulb.

I use a lightbulb vaporizer myself, but I use only glass, metal, ceramics and other materials that have a really high melting point.

There is a better way to do this without spending very much cash.

1)Instead of a lightbulb, use a "boiling flask" preferably with a flat bottom, for example this one for $3.50
250 ml Boiling Flask - Flat Bottom: The Science Fair Inc.
250 ml is the perfect size, slightly bigger than a lightbulb
(SEE PICTURE BELOW)

The glass is thicker, pure, it has a flat bottom so you can put it down safely, its unlikely to break, and there is no weird glue stuff to worry about.

2)Get a #6.5 (six and a half) two-hole rubber stopper. This will fit erfectly in the flask above, and gives you a carb hole and a tube hole and its like $.50 and won't give off any noxious fumes or anything. (see picture)

3)if you want to get fancy order a small amount of 6mm glass tubing for your "straw" so that its almost all glass system.

Total cost is less than $5, but its totally clean, not gonna break, all glass, and works great.:thumbsup:

I wanna get a nice vape but this works fine for now. Thanks for reminding me about them. I made one about a year ago and had forgotten about it. :P

And guys, why are you bothering with the cloudy bulbs?
Just buy a clear one; it's not that hard. They're like a buck and then you would have to worry about what you're inhaling...
