    People who changed your life...

I searched, this hasn't been done before to my findings...

Tell us about some people who changed your life in a positive way, or who helped shape you into who you are today.

The first one for me is probably a guy named Brennon (or something like that, I forget his name, sadly. I haven't seem him in ages). He was my tutor for the second half of sixth grade, really helped me pull my grades up (he's the reason I didn't have to repeat basically.). He also introduced me to longboard skateboarding and the White Stripes, which are two very big parts of me today (well maybe not the stripes so much, but they are a big musical influence). He was also the first person to start the cracks in my social shell.

The Second was a technology teacher from seventh grade. He got me interested very much in technology, and inspired me to build my first amplifier, which I consider a very possible future for me as I reportedly have a nack for it, it makes sense to me somehow even though I still can't read schematics, just layouts. He was also another person who put a big chink in my shell.

The next is an English teacher who taught at my middle school in during my 8th grade year (though I never had him except as a sub for my english teacher (they were good friends)). He got me into alot of music, such as pulp, Bad Brains, Limp Wrist, alot of GOOD old rap and hiphop, The Mars Volta, and encouraged me to work on my own music. He might be the teacher that split the shell I had around myself, socially, completely and helped me the most to open up to people and make some friends. Thanks to him I was one of the most known, if not most popular, people at my middle school, and people that know me well love me. He's also probably one of the few people outside my general peer group and social group that know I smoke. I dunno if he actually knows I smoke, but hes got a pretty good idea, cause I put alot of lyrics by him, several directly about chilling with friends smoking pot. Alot of them had references to doing bong hits, and I also made quite a few references to Legend and Marley in my lyrics. I also heard him talking to another teacher and joking saying "she must be smoking a lotta the ganj", and I commented on it and he tried to convince me that he had said "ganjaborocclie" and that it was a type of broccoli. I think he smoked aswell, because I've only heard smokers use the term Ganj. Most nonsmokers dont ever know what it means.

Another one is my 8th grade art teacher. Encouraged me to paint and draw, gave me some great tips and such, and introduced me the the great full dead. She is another person I think knows I smoke, as it was a common topic for me and friends in that class. Her only commonts on it ever were "Class you do know I can hear everything you say, right?" and her and I got into a discussion about acid, shrooms, pypote cactus, weed, and art. I'm beting she smoked aswell. She wore green for four twenty, and didn't really say anything about us talking about it in her class.

There are others I'm forgetting probably, but those are the main ones. Middle School was probably the biggest life changing experience of, well, my life.

So post some of the people that have helped u become who u are today.

My mom. Hardest working woman I have ever met. Does everything possible for her kids, especially after my Dad left.

My dad. Not the easiest person to deal with at times, but he has taught me about how to become a man and how to succeed in life.

My friends have taught me the lifestyle I'm living today and have helped me in times of need.

My dad, who taught me to take risks
Two journalism teachers, one in high school and one in college, who nurtured my verbal talents
My older sister Bess, who passed away last year
A wonderful, trusted friend named Z
My husband and son, who urged me to go for my dream of studying medicine even though I'm in my 40s
My two oldest friends, John, who taught me about courage, and Stephanie, who taught me about strength
My maternal grandmother, who was all about unconditional love

I've also been influenced by lot of other folks I'd consider public figures, but these are the ones who've touched me personally.

my parents - for teaching me the morals that i live by today, and for always being there for me

mr. aiuto - my english professor from last fall. taught me well, and wasnt until his class that i realized i'm strong in the subject.

mike seto/steve seltz - when i was first learning guitar, these were the two people that pushed me the most at the beginning

mr. crowson - my guitar teacher. sickest musician i've ever seen. learned soooooooooo much from him. the best thing i've learned from him though, is how little i actually know.

juan dixon - a rough childhood doesnt mean you can't accomplish anything in life
