    Rant: canker sores!

I have like 4 canker sores in my mouth right now!!! Fuck! 2 are on the tip of my tongue and the other two are on my lower lip. Does anyone else suffer from these dreadful things???

BTW, canker sores are different from cold sores. Everyone knows that the latter are caused by the herpes virus. Doctors don't really know what causes canker sores.

The worst part is they make my entire mouth ache. I'm having trouble sleeping, and eating can be a bitch!

yea i get those.. infact i just got over one like last month, it was inside my upperlip on the right side. It was really a bad bitch to handle, it felt like a wasp was stuck up in there and kept stinging the same spot, thus i was a pretty silent person during that because any move of my mouth could potentially result in hell-raising pain... I found that Peroxide is your best friend with those, all you got to do is soak a cotton ball and stick it where the sore(s) is at, leave it there for about 10-15mins., it might sting at first but it will make it go away faster than going without it

Canker sores are a bitch especially when they get at the exact spot to annoy to hell out of you when you try to eay. I think you can buy stuff to make them go away but I have never really tried to look for it.

I used to get them when I was a kid all the time, turns out eating too much sugar caused it. Sooo... wana know a cure? lol, I've asked around and I know more than all my doctors and dentists combined.

A really good one is this (only works for lips ones, I'm not even sure the little white tongue ones can be called cankers): Make sure the canker is wet with saliva, then quickly cover it in baking soda. It's going to hurt like hell, and the longer you keep it on the more it's going to hurt. But if you really wanna accomplish about a 50-75% healing, you'll do this (I have many times). But to make it work you gotta hold it on there for a good minute at least, a couple minutes ideally.
This seems to shink it, dry it out, and smooth out the surface. And best of all, it'll hurt about half as much! I've never tried doing it more than once to the same canker, but I don't think it would accomplish much to do so.

In the meantime, figure out what's causing you cankers. The most usual culprits for anybody are soda, candy, gluten (maily wheat), or chocolate.

At the beginning of the summer I had a canker sore that was on the right side of my mouth partly on the gum above my wisdom tooth and on the lower part of cheek. It sucked.

rinse your mouth with warm salt water, that'll clear them right up.

I used to get them all the time, knock on wood, I haven't gotten one for a long time now. My grandmother used to give me this stuff to put on them, and it would like rinse all of the white part of them out. It would burn like hell but it killed all the white part of them and left a red crater, which hurt but it hurt less and healed quickly. I forgot what it was called though sorry. Does the magical mary jane help with the pain?

I haven't gotten a canker sore since I was 18, long time ago lol. But when I did, oh man, I had them everywhere in my mouth.

    You'll eventually outgrow them.

True, but that'll only work if it's due to a bacterial infection (caused by common mouth bacteria). The salt-water is well tolerated by your body's natural bacteria, but not by foreign ones (that's why salt-water is way better, in general, than mouthwash). If it's due to a PH imbalance or alergica reaction, the salt won't do anything.
