No..I'm not stupid..thanks for the asshole remark though =)

FFS....You ask a question around here and instead you get a laughing stock of hecklers.....Good to know I guess... I thought this was a place to get helpful info
instead you get belittled....I'm sorry i'm not blessed with a green thumb.lol
But i'm learning..I used to work at a plant nursery..So yeah, I do have botanical experience..Cannabis is a very complex plant...Even you should know this to be true...
And no I didn't know hemp had bud's...I've never seen nor smoked hemp..... so I guess that would make me acknowledgeable to that sort of strain..wouldn't you think so...

I've talked to a few people in town.. the locals...And they said that back in the 70's a lot of people were growing it in the area....So i'm just assuming here that it isn't hemp....It has buds with white/orange hairs.... they started to bud early July...I'm guessing that is a good sign????

Hemp is usually bred to be hermaphroditic. The reason is, male and female plants grow differently, and hemp farmers want their seeded fields to grow more or less uniform.

Like you said, the cannabis was probably first grown for toking purposes.

The plants you thought were males were probably hermaphrodites, not males. Hermies would look different than females and have seeds, and you probably assumed that they were males since they looked different.

When the plants grew the next year, they probably came from seeds dropped by the plants you transplanted. With the TLC you gave them, they were probably not so stressed, and so became females.

    Just my thoughts.

No need to berate the guy for just not understanding what he was dealing with.

Thank you man...Thank you so much..You answered the question I have been asking myself for months now in a few simple sentences...And so you call these "hermies" I like this term...Dude thank you so much...Last year I remember..When I first spotted thee wild plants...I thought I had seen some bud on them when I first found them...But there were so many seed's. and so little bud..And this year Since I pulled every single male I saw..And I do this on a regular basis every 2 weeks.....They have been unable to have sex ...Or so that's how I look at it....
Do you think they will be any good...????
Here is a pic.. And they started to Bud early July....Is this a good thing??? or just not even important thing...I would guess so since they basically have been building up from July to this years harvest "October"

If you were here with my "Mr. Khronik" I'd smoke you out and try and learn more..I really do appreciate your input..Which is alot better then getting accused of spreading disinformation....and ridiculed... And yeah you were exactly right..I did assume the plants I had planted last year were male..And indeed they were just hermies with boat-loads of seeds....You've really cleared up alot of my confusion..Thanks again..I can't say it enough

By the way...the pic's of my plants are on the 1st page of this thread..If you wouldn't mind checkin em out and tellin me what ya think about em..that'd be nice...I'm starting to type like an Okie now :P
the pic's are about a month and a half old now....The plants are much much bigger than they are in the pic's now...

Haha, yeah, I wouldn't mind that, weed around here is really unreliable and my single plant has three weeks left until harvest. I was just thinking, cannabis drops a lot of seeds. Maybe the plants you have grew from unsprouted seeds that were in the soil. Cannabis is not a perennial, so there is no reason to transplant the whole plant if you're trying to get it to grow back next year. You just need seeds.

Both male and female cannabis plants will turn into hermaphrodites in response to stress, and growing outdoors in Oklahoma sounds pretty stressful! If you take good care of them, the plants will separate into males and females, which it sounds like they're doing now.

Those are really big, nice looking plants! My outdoor grows never got that big. I'm assuming they descended from plants grown for drug purposes, since you say they smoke pretty well. They look like sativas (as opposed to indicas), which do grow tall like that, and back during the 70s, that's pretty much all they grew. However, since they have probably spent a few decades evolving to devoting more of their energy to staying alive and less to making THC, they are probably kind of low-grade. You could do a LOT better if you got some high-quality seeds.

Well at one time I lived in Kansas and on most the railroads you can see hemp growing for miles.. 10-12 foot fully budded beautiful stalks for as far as the eye can see.

Its source is from the time when it was grown across America for rope, oil and fiber and was transported by the tons on trains and seed blew out the cracks in the cars.. Then there were trains caring fertilizers that also passed by dusting the areas along the tracks.

Wirhin 20 miles of Levenworth Ks you can find 100's of acers of it growing all over the place. Of course if you try to smoke it all you'll get is smoke inhilation and no buzz..

Its where I learned to make hash as that was the way we used it back then..

    True Story...

When I was first stationed there in the Army 4 of us found a farm house to rent and we split the cost.. great place back in the sticks and we had some great parties.

One morning before daybreak a friend Jerry and I decided to go rabbit hunting back through the fields. It was just starting to get light as we found an old rotting down barn with a broke down fenced in area around it. It was totally over grown and we got about half way across the fenced area and I noticed that all the weeds growing in the area was pot. I yelled at Jerry and said am I nuts are is this dope!! first time I ever saw so much wild weed and thought we had walked into someone grow but you could tell it was never touched.

It was beautiful, fully flowered and looked like fine bud.. We turned around and headed back to the house and grabbed a close line and 2 butcher knives and headed back to the barn.

We cut two huge bundles and dragged it back. Had to be 100 - 150 lbs of bud. We drug it into the kitchen to clean it and had a 1/2in of seeds covering the floor. We stuck some in the oven to dry to try .. After 2 joints ..Nothing... after 4 joints Nothing.. its was then we fiqured we had just cut a batch of rope hemp..

We did make a pound or so of hash that was a good buzz and had a bon fire that made the whole area smell like dope all night from the sticks and leaves..

After that I then started seeing dope everywhere.. If you get a good look at wild dope growing naturally you can't ever miss it again. You can drive any freeway or road in eastern Kansas and if you watch the fence line you'll see bif tall beautiful plants just like you see milkweed here in KY..

I know what you mean....I was driving down I-35 from Texas to Okc...I stopped mid-way past Dallas....So much of it just growing right in the under passes and drainage units....Everywhere I drive now I'm always watching the fence line....maybe I'll spot some chronic one day and my fantasies will be fulfilled...I would love to not have to worry about a plant and just stumble upon a natural beauty that took care of itself...but growing it is pretty fun.. it's one of the best hobbies I've ever stuck with

Duffy, that's not wild cannabis growing alongside I-35 to the north of Dallas. It's a very common ditch weed that grows wild around here. I think it's some form of vitex, but if you look closely you'll see it's not cannabis. You'll never see a bud on it, and its leaves are slightly different. It's everywhere around here, growing along fence lines, in drainage ditches and alongside wild sunflowers.
