Almost Harvest time need some Drying Help
In my opinion putting a fan and a dehumidifier is a terrible thing to do. I would only advise putting a dehumidifier or a fan on it if you dont have a good place to dry it ... such as a room temperature average humidity room.. ( which u should have) .. if you were say trying to dry it in a room that was cold or humid ( like a uninsulated basement in the winter) would be the only way i would advise putting a fan or dehumidifier in ther.. and that would be for the fact that it would take longer than 7 - 9 days to be ready to be put into the sealed environment .. Aka jars .. tupperwear .. bags .
And you hopefully wouldnt be drying it in a cold or humid room .. so ther shouldnt ever be a need for a dehumidifier or a fan .. if you were to for instance have a room temperature, average humidity room, with a fan blowing on it and a dehumidifier going on it .. it would dry to quickly and you would lose alot of flavour, smoothness etc.
The whole purpose of the jars etc, is to slowly remove the last bit of moisture, that is what gives it its smoothness , if u have a fan and a dehumidifier on ther and it drys to quickly, the curing process is ruined. Sorry for the punctuation etc. When i get going i forget about it, hehe for some reason i sometimes lose my train of thought ... "exhales blunt "
O ya almost forget, as for the burping in the jars etc, you have to check it every 24 hours , first time u sweat it it may be to wet and require it to go back on the screen ,, its a very fine line between drying to much before going into jar .. and putting it in to wet. If you put it in the jar and it feel quite wet take it out, wait like 4 - 6 hours or so than try and jar it again and see how it is .. rinse and repeat.
