Menthol crystals & marijuana

I was having a conversation with my mother about marijuana and she said she used to use menthol crystals to make her weed menthol. Has anyone ever done this or heard of it being done? If so, how? (I've already got the menthol crystals)

I thought about that. What I first did was put some weed in a ball of tin foil and poked a bunch of holes in it and put it in the menthol crystals and shook it up. It was left in the crystals for about 90 mins before we smoked it and it didn't taste like menthol too much. I came here seeking advice to see if anyone knew if menthol crystals were safe to smoke. My guess is they are alright to smoke as they are used in many different pharmaceutical compounds, but at the same time these compounds are used externally or sometimes used in the stomach, not in the lungs.

Regardless, when I get out of work I will grind up some menthol crystals and put the smallest bit in with some weed in a glass pipe.
