At least this has brought this kind of thing out into the open. Those who enjoy "cruelty" in their sports.....whatever sport....are simply wired wrong in my opinion (read: my opinion)

I just think there is something missing in a person who enjoys watching animals (kids, old folks etc) in pain and suffering.....not to menion lovely folks like MV to whom that isn't enough.....they have to CAUSE it. I can't tell what "gene" or childhood problem or whatever makes a person like that but I certainly wish we could find out and rid the earth of such "people."

I'm afraid my dogs will get stolen for bait. The max penalty is much too soft for this type of crime.

That's true but it's getting better now Pass, bit by bit. There have been a LOT of changes....even in the last 10 years.....on peoples' view of animals and personal responsibility. Quite honestly I'm somewhat surprised at the passion of these answers so far......restores my faith in real human behavior.

im kind of in between the whole situation.

i think he is dumb as fuck for trying to make money doing the whole dogfighting thing, while he is being handed millions of dollars from the nfl. i also think its cruel the way they executed some of the dogs.

but then i think this shit is completely overrated and exaggerated. i dont think he should be banned from the nfl, thats completely harsh. i mean what he did was wrong but it really has nothing to do with football its his personel problem. its kind of fucked up that he is going to get punished by the government and after that also get punished by the nfl. some nfl players be using steriods and only get suspended for a couple of months andhe has a dogfight and he might get banned??

he should be punished but a couple of years in federal prison for fighting some animals is too much. he should have to pay a huge fine and have a fair punishment.

About it being too much for him to get banned from the nfl since it's unrelated... stuff like that is the only way you can punish rich fucks... jail and fines dont matter

The NFL is hard on gambling, for a reason. If they let Vick slide, then that opens the door for others. While Vick would likely never get in over his head with a bookie or anything, given his cash availability, other lower-paid players might. And then the bookie says something like, 'We'll break both your legs and cripple you forever, then rat you out to the NFL, unless you purposely lose the game on Nov 6 this year.' Or whatever, you get the idea.

That's why I am pretty sure he will not play in the NFL again, regardless of whatever else happens to him through the judicial system. They can't look soft on gamblers, because gamblers could (further) taint the integrity of the sport.
