Asthma and Marijuana
I have had asthma since I was 10 and even though it hasn't prevented me from doing sports or be in the Army, I was curious as to how smoking medical marijuana help treat or relieve symptoms of asthma. From personal experience I have smoked marijuana while being short of breath, and after a few hits I could breath normally, I just want to know how marijuana effects asthma and would I qualify for medical marijuana?

Smoking cannabis (or anything) is not good for asthma. Try vaporizing! My hubby is/was asthmatic. NO problems with vaping! Granny:hippy:

THC and other cannabinoids are known to be anti-inflammatory and would actually be a decent treatment/prevention method for Asthma. I, too, am an asthma sufferer, and when I was younger (actually, before I started using cannabis) it was very extreme. Was actually born with it, I believe, but was diagnosed when I was one when I was rushed to the hospital because I had "stopped breathing"... But smoking ANYTHING is not good for it, believe me, because when I was SMOKING ganja, my asthma had subsided, but the smoke was agitating my bronchia, and while I didn't really have the asthma, I still ended up wheezing/being short of breath, but I can tell the difference between that and an actual asthma attack. These days I still smoke, but I only smoke when I'm not at home. At home, I either vape or digest it, and I usually digest it whenever I go to a friends house (I either prepare muffins, brownies, or green dragon to take)
but yeah.
edit: Forgot to mention that using JUST cannabis would be pretty stupid when you have an asthma attack. I think it'd be a safe preventative, but not treatment for an attack. Sort of like Advair or something, but all natural.

You gotta start using the search results. Thats what its here for.......
And stormcrow is absolutely right. Smoking cannabis or smoking anything in particular is NOT good for the asthma at all. Smoking cannabis will NOT make your asthma any better, trust me I have it myself and it made it worst many times.

Asthma and Marijuana
Thanks for all the info. My asthma isn't too bad, I do have a healthy diet (with the occasional trips to fast food places) and I am in good shape due to the army. I didn't think weed would make the asthma went away, but now that I now what it does to the asthma, I get it now. Thanks again!

Asthma and Marijuana
I have had asthma for 18 years now (my whole life) and I have a very very very bad case of asthma and have to use my puffer constantly and am still seeing asthma specialists
Marijuana has never made me short of breath at all, It makes it better.
I've never had to use my puffer once or had wheezing or any asthma effects during toking time, infact one time I was all out of my medication so what I did was smoke weed, couple minutes later I was good to go. The weed actually takes AWAY my asthma.

There is a lot that can be done to prevent asthma, and keep it under control. 99% of it has to do with indoor air quality (IAQ). First off, clean is good... dust top to bottom with something like endust, vacuum with a new bag/filter every time. Have your heating and A/C system serviced regularly, and use a good quality filter...ask you tech about MERV 8 or 9 pleated filters. If you got more dollars than sense, you can buy the ones with the 3M "Filtrete" brand name at Lowes or Home Depot. If you have carpet that is more than 5 years old, replace it or get rid of it completely. Wash all your bedding regularly. Wash throw rugs regularly. Got lots of pets?? minimize the number of pets and their dander.
Check you home thouroghly for water leaks, and mold. Most mold problems can be eliminated by the application of a 10% bleach solution, repairing any water leaks, and having a correctly sized, properly operating heating and cooling system. With a little bit of effort, you can have a healthy home, and be healthier in general.
I can attest to the fact that this works... I have a lot of customers that used to have all kinds of respratory problems, and after doing these things I suggested, they no longer have any health problems. I have a couple of commercial accounts that I put this into effect, and they have a lot of employees.... many of whom have all kinds of symptoms while in their home, but when they come to work, their symptoms go away within 15 - 20 minutes.
One last thing... if you smoke cigs, STOP IT!!![SIZE=\"6\"]READ MY LIPS!!!

Don\'t put yourself in a position where somebody has to *DO* something about it in the first place!!
