Sudden Yellowing of Bottom Leaves (in 2 week olds)
OK, so my plants did well the first few days, but started getting funny yellowing or leaves while veins remained green... I figured nutrients were getting locked out by a slightly alkaline soil (though I have not tested soil, it is country cottage seed started soil)... so I added water diluted w/ ~1/10 urine to the affected plants, and they perked right up. Unfortunately today at 16 days from sprout, two of them have developed something new. One has steadily grown a lighter green than the rest, and has never really recovered from the initial deficiency that well. The other had been A OK for about 1 week there and is doing the best of all. Infact, it has .... maybe 6 leaf sets? w/ 4 itsy bitsy baby branches w/ two itsy bitsy baby leaf sets on each. I think that last night the leaves w/ still pretty good -- nothing concerning, same today, but tonight all of a sudden one of the bottom leaf set has turned quite yellow... the whole darned thing! the next one up is getting there...
What is this sudden problem??? I am about to water w/ a 1/10 dose of vegetative nutrient... SOMEBODY TALK ME OUT OF THIS!!!!sinky Reviewed by sinky on . Update: it actually has 5 main leaf sets if you include the secondary leaf set w/ only 1 finger each. Also: the stems of the affected leaves are quite red on top and a normal (?) pale yellow/green on the bottom. And: the whole plant is actually a fairly pale yellow color. Now this one was one of the Durban Poison X Skunk #1 freebies from nirvana, and I was being stupid when I planted that particular one. Its soil is about 8 parts seed starter soil 1 part bone meal and 1 part blood meal so its probably pretty hot soil. I've also been bottom watering (placing pots in a bowl w/ water in it, allowing water to saturate only the bottom of the pot, before lightly moistening the rest of the soil by contact)............
I know I know -- KISS -- I just can't help it!!!

cannabis does NOT like bottom-watering ... I was going to suggest you are over-watering, but your bottom-watering would have the same effect ... don't do it ... water throughly, then, let the soil dry out completely before watering again ... cannabis needs WELL-drained soil, and needs to go through wet-and-dry periods ... good luck :smokin:

thank you thank you thank you. Bottom watering stops today! I was just worried about compacting the soil.
