From what I've read, NYC Diesel takes somewhat longer than Big Bud or NL, so you might want to do a crop of Big Bud mixed with some NL, then do a crop of just NYC Diesel. I can't be absolutely sure of this though -- I have some Big Bud seeds but haven't done anything with them, and I have some NYC Diesel seedlings but since they're still young, I don't know their whole lifecycle yet other than what I've read. My plan is to keep the Diesel separate from my other (faster flowering) stuff, give it its own grow so that different flowering times don't screw me up much.

Dunno about the pollinated female and ambient light. I'd give it at least one dedicated CFL; it's a lot of work (read: energy) to generate seeds, so you'll probably get more out of it if you give it at least some real lighting, even if it's just one CFL.
