Sure if you light your incense and hold directly under the detector and let the smoke pour on to it'll go off. But not if you just light it and set it somewhere practical in your room, unless you have a really small room.

Yeah the smoke produced by the incense isnt that thick and that much so unless your sitting in a room with no windows open or anything and it somehow gets smoked out by the incense it could set an alarm off....but in most cases it shouldnt.

Incense smoke is safe to use around smoke detectors, ironically. Everywhere I've been that we had to get rid of the smell somehow, we lit a shitload of incense, and it never goes off. Shit, we usually smog up and entire house and the shit STILL doesn't go off. Wonder if it's broken...
