Help with male plants...
Hi again all, here is a question that doesn't get much attention because the answer can be pretty straight forward, but I ask because I am curious if there are any other answers besides the obvious.
The sex of two plants were identified - a male and female (both are very large and healthy, it is very exciting). The female has just begun to flower (3 days ago still unsure of sex, now two or three female flowers are *just* visible). The male started to flower about a week ago, maybe a little more, but no flowers have opened yet (expecting it to within 3-5 days). Neither plant can be moved away from the other to prevent pollination. The male should be harvested within the next 48 hours at the most I would guess. My question is this: Can the male be used in any way after harvesting? I know the basic answer is "males are only good for pollinating females," but they do contain a *small* percentage of the "good stuff." Knowing this, I ask what the most resourcefull way is to use a male other than pollination (which is only a good thing if you need seeds). Can it be vaped? Used like shake when cooking? As freebies to friends mixed with some bud? When things get really desperate and all the bud is gone? Thanks!Delta9Haze420 Reviewed by Delta9Haze420 on . Help with male plants... Forget about it. Kill your males. It's just not worth the risk for some shitty ass lame smoke that probably won't even get you high. This question keeps coming up... it's natural to want to do SOMETHING with them since you put in the effort, but after your first harvest, you will look back and giggle at the thoguht of smoking males.

Well, you could dry the male, crumble the leaves, stash in a jar, then throw that in with some other (decent) stuff and make some canna-oil for brownies sometime. That way, you will at least feel that you got all you possibly could from the male. That'd probably be more of a psychological boost for you than anything else, but hey.

If you are not breeding toss the male when you know its male and save yourself time, supplies and needed light space.

When only working with two plants, the situation of time, energy, and risk is nothing compared to that of someone working a Sea of Green or similar setup. Just thought some background on the situation might make things more clear. Consider that there are only two left; one is known genetics, the other is from street brickweed. The one with known genetics came from a Cannabis Cup winning strain (a Haze variety from Green House Seed Co. :thumbsupturned female, so many blessings have been counted on that (should be some serious dankness from her). It would have really sucked if both of them turned out to be male.

Heh, I'm not gonna give you any shit -- I've been there. I smoked seeds once (headache, nasty), males once (not bad, at least I got the taste, better than nothing), and yes, I'm one of those who has tried catnip too (once, headache, nasty). Of those three choices, male cannabis plants were *definitely* the best. So that road you're currently walking, if you look down, my footsteps are there too!
