    Another Obama Foreign-Policy Flap

While in New Hampshire yesterday, Barack Obama said this about U.S. problems in Afghanistan:

"Now you have narco drug lords who are helping to finance the Taliban, so we've got to get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops that we are not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there."

I disagree. I do not construe it as troop slammiing. We all know who's in charge here. (Dick Cheney :wtf In the military, you have one job--follow orders. Whenever someone says something negative about the war it is frequently interpreted as bashing the troops when it is actually bashing the administration. I know people in both Afghanistan and Iraq now, and I do not support them being there, but that does not mean I do not support them personally.

P4B, again you misinterpret the opposition, I'm pretty sure Obama is smarter than to smudge the troops. He is right. instead of just bombing villages, we should seek out the enemy and engage him with sufficient firepower to win. We should put pressure on Musharrif to push the taliban to the west where we can engage them and destroy them. This the way to win, and that is what he was saying.... Even in this cruel war we should respect the lives of women and children.

I don't understand how you think Obama is "slamming the troops" P4B:wtf:. He's clearly saying that the problem is not having enough troops, and depending on indiscriminate air-raides that kill civilians, which in turn pisses off the populace to help the Taliban recruitment efforts.
