Can anyone tell me how long the light period should be and at what strengh it should be for fresh clones and does it matter what strain they are (northern lights/white widow).

I run mine with my veg plants at 18/6. If i had the space, you can speed up the process with 12/12. As long as you have a 6 hr rest period for the root development, you'll be fine. I lose about 5 days when i 18/6 vs the 12/12. I'm in no hurry now, so it works great for me.

Most strains will root around 14 days. Be patient, they will root.

Are you flowering the mother ? 12/12 will cause her to flower. Not sure I understand what you mean.

I personally would not put clones under a 600 watter. Good chance you might fry 'em if you get light too close. Pick ya up a few 42 watt, 6500K CFL's for your clones. Can get bulbs, fixtures, etc for around 15-20 bucks. 18/6 for clones is how I do it.

I clone 2 full prop trays at a time under a SINGLE CFL. That's all you need.
I have also had fine results under 24h light.
If your have the choice between the flower room and a veg room to set this stuff up in, do it in the veg room.
If you are only running one room, set your prop tray up on the back of the toilet... hahahaha... that's always an underutilized growing area...

It doesnt matter what strain they are.... some just take longer then others to root. Some root in 5 days and others take up to 20. Just keep them on the floor it your using anything more then floros. They like the temp to be a little higher with more humidity and they should root. Dont put them in the 12/12 room. Just go get a floro and keep it on 24
