Yep, we can tell sativa from indica. The width of the fan leaves, bushyness, and dark-green characteristics can tell us that it is indica dominant. However, you cannot tell which strain it is simply from looking at it, only species (indica/sativa/ruderalis)... and maybe some heritage traits. But that's about all. Like I said, it's probably Buttsex x Hindu Kush (just kidding).

Make sure to veg it until preflowers come up, then switch it to 12/12.

Also, you might want to figure out what's wrong with it. I'm not sure exactly, but I can tell you that it doesn't look 100% healthy. That's not to say that it's super unhealthy, but something is wrong with those yellow spots on the fan leaves. You might want to check it out. Or maybe an experienced grower can come in here and give their input as to what exactly is wrong. Also, I think this is the wrong category for this thread.

its an indica alright and looks healthly enough

its out side and im using a 175 watt metal halide about 15 hrs and 9 dark the weather beat it up a little and i burned it a couple times but overall i think it looks ok.
When the hell does it pre flower???

Looks healthy enough. You don't have anything to worry about. But if you start seeing black dots on your leaves that are pretty tiny, you will begin to experience a spidermite issue that will tear up your leaves and potentially kill your plant.
