i can't grow at the moment but i'm doing my research. so how does this sound?


a wardrobe (1.75 feet by 2.75 feet by 6 feet)

250W or 400W HPS light - which would you recommend???

Northern lights seeds (apparently low odour)

grow 6 northern lights plants until they show sex. remove the males (hopefully 3 are female) then flower the 3 females.

there will be a fan running constantly to keep temperature down

as for odour control i will use air freshners if necessary. if this is not sufficient they i will get a negative ion generator or an ozone generator.

i would be growing in good quality potting soil with vermiculite and perlite in it for aeration.

i am considering getting another wardrobe so i can get a continuous harvest going.

i'm only growing for personal use (1 ounce dry a month is the most i would ever need) so i think that 1 wardrobe would be more than sufficient. how many plants could i grow in my wardrobe? (1.75 feet by 2.75 feet by 6 feet)

i would prob go with a 400, get a good exhaust fan and cooltube and carbon filter. that would take care of afew things
if you do another wardrobe it could be alittle smaller and just use it for clone and vegg, and use the other larger wardrobe for flower.

thanks for the advice if i can get the heat down (with good ventilation) then the 400 would be the best bet for sure.

i gave it some thought last night and decided that for my first grow i will keep it small (so no seperate areas for veg and flowering)

so how many plants could i grow (veg and flower) in my wardrobe? dimensions are 1.75 feet by 2.75 feet by 6 feet. i'm talking about northern lights which is an indica strain

If you're doing a sea of green (SOG) grow, and use the little square pots, you could fit 15 plants in there (3 x 5). If you're doing a screen of green (ScroG) grow, then I'd go with two plants in 3-gallon pots. I'd recommend the latter.

Everyone pushes for big lights, i'd like to think I prove 150 and 250 watters can and do grow superb plants.

Everyone says NL is low odor, while this is true, each plant is different (phenotypes). Just as we're all human, look at the variation. My northern lights grow from femaleseeds.nl was one of my stinkiest grows toward the end of flowering ive grown.

Both links show from cabinet to closet from CFLs to HPS, from dwc to soil, and various methods of odor control from ozium and air freshners, to airwick self squirting timed arisols to ozone. I'm a fan of simple and efficient, o3 is my preferred.

Ultimately, if your still planning -- best advice is know your intentions know your envriment and adapt w/ as you grow.

If you go with jams's suggestion, a sog requires growing at least till sex, then cloning which is its own unique experience.

Vague, im sure and im sorry ----- but its the best advice i can give :thumbsup:

As far as yeild/mo... just remember its a whole different ballgame when your staring at a HUGE pile of herb, i find myself smokin more and more frequently especially when bountyful... a consideration to take in.

Go in w/ a open mind and experiment - be willin to fuck up and youll enjoy a exciting hobby

i'm siding with ScrOG because it involves fewer plants. if i get caught i can get away very lightly because i have legitimate grounding for claiming medicinal reasons.

UK courts like to assume each plant will be grown to 8 feet which is stupid

i've heard mixed things about NL being low odour as well, but it seems to be more likely than other strains to be low odour - which is something.

BHB420, i think i could get used to smoking more and more so i will need to look at something slightly larger scale to keep me comfortably supplied
