My mom used to be a stoner, but she's anti-weed now. Her only problem with it is that I can't get any federal funding for college if I get caught (which is nothing but bullshit) She even says that when weed becomes legal, she's gonna have a "Pot Party." I started smoking heavily in late summer, and all of a sudden now she's telling me about how lazy potheads are and all potheads want to do is smoke pot. Which is not true, b/c I plan to be a hell of a lot more than just a stoner. She's found my visine in the past. So, i'm sure she knows what I do, but I still don't know how to tell her. I dont' know how to admit it without feeling like she's gonna be angry or disappointed in me.

umm.... are you serious it can fuck up getting into college? LIke in any major ways?

Dude, in the United States, if you get in trouble with marijuana (this may not apply to areas where they are now giving out tickets) you lose all of your opportunities to get federal grants or scholarships for college. You are automatically ineligible for all of them. (Unless you are lucky and find an organization that is giving out scholarships to stoners) You may even be ineligible for student loans, but I'm not sure about that one.

That law is the truth, and what I'm most afraid of. Jail time? Don't get me wrong, but half you kids that aren't college bound have it easy. I could fuck up my entire life and crush my family and all my relatives. One of my half brothers is dead (dropped out in middle school) and the other one right now is working construction and dropped out his freshmen year in highschool. My dad dropped out of college because he had to avoid the draft, but my mom went. I've always planned on going to my college.

Right now I'm a near straight A student in gifted classes (taking two ap classes next year), and plan on getting 75% of my tuition payed for by the government. Right now I have so much to lose just if I get caught with as much as a few weed flakes. I wouldn't mind probation for the rest of my life, as long as I can get to college. I might as well kill myself if I'm caught with weed before college. I'd have let down my entire family, I tarnished my record (never caught with anything), and will just feel like a black sheep.

And the worst part is that I'm the victim. I don't smoke often, I'm a healthy kid, I have my morals. But if I'm caught with bud, my entire life is ruined and I won't be the same. The government will have literally ruined my life.

chickenhuntin, you say its bullshit in your first post about college funding then in your second post you say that you can lose all your opportunities for funding. which is it?
is it bullshit or not? the other day you were going to be a dealer. would that be considerd bullshit as well. what would your mommy think about you if you got caught dealing? what would those people that give the funding moneys out think if you got caught dealing? this might sound a little harsh but you are bringing it on yourself. peace.
