took a couple days to harden, it smokes really good, smoke is cool, it does kinda taste like dirt, but it makes it feel more... natural?

Looks tight but it might taste funky like wood pipes do, I wouldn't know cause I've never tried one but ya. Does it even have a screen I can't tell..

nah, but the hole connecting the mouth piece and the bowl is thin, so no ash gets through.

Yep, paint it and also make sure you put gloss over it or something. I wouldn't put the gloss or paint in the bowl, though. Not sure if you'd want to be inhaling smoke from that.
