if the helicopters with thermal imaging were to say fly over an old semi trailor (one that could be used to grow weed out of), can the thermal camera see through the metal semi-trailor? because those type of helicopters fly around every once in a while so yeah.

yes, they can 'see' thru the trailer, and most other materials ... they are looking for heat signatures ... if it is an old refrigerated trailer, it probably could not sense the heat thru all that high-efficiency insulation ... :smokin:

The thing is, they need a warrant to search your home *before* they use thermal imaging on it. And, if they have a warrant to search your home, they won't bother with thermal imaging; they'll just pull up with a few squad cars, knock your door down, and tear your place apart. That's much cheaper, more effective, and undoubtedly more fun than thermal imaging. The Supreme Court already ruled on this in the U.S. -- warrant first, then thermal imaging. Not thermal imaging, then warrant. As long as you give them no reason to get a warrant, you have no need to fear thermal imaging.

Sure, here's a link that provides a brief description of the Supreme Court decision:

We should all thank Mr. Kyllo for fighting his case all the way to the Supreme Court.
