KASM! (kill all spider mites!) need a pro...
so i have a spider mite problem. sure i've identified the source (dirty dirty clones) but because i runna perpetual garden things are getting tough.
i have a 4x4x 5 1/2 closet style room with a 400w hps, ocilating fan, extraction fan etc. temps stay 73f-79f. right now i have 6 clones at 4 weeks flower (about 2 1/2 ft) and they have dasterdly mites (but still look beautiful and are still putting on weight).
so i did my research and about 3 1/2 weeks ago (half week into flower) introduced predator mites, which can take roughly 2 weeks to get into full effect. i see them all over doin their thing killing and slurping the inside of the bad mites, doing good things. but its not fast enough and it hasn't killed them off completly yet. so i was gonna let some ladybugs loose and try to keep stuff in check but i'm thinking mites are too small for the lady bugs to eat, at least the adult lady bugs.
i also have a veg box with roughly 18 banana kush babies that have yet to be sexed. a few showed a little sign of mite damage so i also released predator mites and the preadtor mites have been kicking ass.
a list of what i used...
1. "don't bug me" foxfarm bug spray can be used till day of harvest.
2. neem oil. altrenated "don't bug" with neem during veg but stopped using both during flower. (never smoke neem buds)
3. preadator mites
4. lady bugs
whatelse can be done? thought about givin the bloom room the mitebomb before i put my kush's in (but after i harvest the clones). figure i'll just end up cleaning my herb when i give it the chop. would a water cure help clean it in the end if the bugs don't get under control?

whoa opie, after reading those threads i understand why you didn't even try to explain. that even after i followed spider mite protocol, much like you yourself did it just isn't enough. sprays during veg, predators during bloom, but it just isn't enough. so i should get a fly strip? the toxins will permeate the room (only if my ventilation isn't on)? and this will kill my spider mites (and also my lady bugs and predator mites) right? ok, i'll give it a try, thanks for explaining it to me...

two fly strips and five days later and the mites are still kickin my ass. picking off webs daily, a 4x4 space with the ventilation off at night to ensure the toxins of the strips fill the space. not only is it not working but its killing my ladybugs. hmmmm.....

by 'fly strips', I hope you mean the 'No-Pest Strips', and not the sticky, gooey fly strips ... if the No-Pest strips don't kill them , you might consider FIRE !! :jumphappy: ... just kidding, don't use fire ... I've used the No-Pest strips for many years, and never had an insect in the room, (but I never had to use them to get rid of insects already present), maybe they don't work that way ... ?? ... good luck, let us know what works

If the No Pest Strips don't work you are probably doing something wrong, or you are that 1 or 2% that aren't able to get them to work. Remember:
- Like Image Reaper says it is not the sticky trap, but the trap that smells funny. Look at the pictures of the package I posted in one of the threads I linked to above.
- Make sure you use as little ventilation as possible. I don't see why you can't completely turn off your ventilation at night for a week or so. This should do the trick. Just make sure you don't see any new eggs, and you are done.
- There are a very few species of mite that have become resistent to the chemicals in the strips. If this is the case, try bombing or fire.
- The strips will kill ALL insects and bugs, including beneficial ones.
2 strips should be plenty in the space you mention. If you are picking off webs, you have a real bad infestation, and like me, waited too long to do something about it. I would highly reccommend that you dunk your plants in a neem oil solution like I mention in one of those threads. This will kill 90% or so and get rid of all the webbing. Then use the strips with no ventilation and you will kill the remainder.

You should take your girls outside and use a hose-end sprayer mercilessly on them, especially on the undersides of the leaves. That will rid you of most of your spider mites. Of course, that will also wash away many of your deliciously smokeable trichomes. Maybe you should have kilt them mites before flowering.
Oh, well. Are you an incurably romantic/organic sort? If not, then douse them bitches's leaves, top and bottom, with pyrethrins (organically-discovered, anyway, even if synthetically produced).
Or, if you're an incurably romantic/organic anti-tobacco sort of nutjob, buy a satchel of Redman chewing tobacco, steep it into a tea, and saturate the little buggers with a toxic nicotinic stew.
