The first time i smoked, i felt this numbness after-effects for almost a week. They were stronger specially when i stayed too much time without eating.
And this year i had a 4-days break (after 2 years of daily use), then smoked some good indica, became COMPLETLY fucked, and felt this after effects again, for some 2 days...
So, i think its a perfectly normal thing. The THC is stored in the fat of the body, so when this fat is burnt (by exercise, or lack of eating), the THC is released again, causing some effects to return.
