One Plant Dead?

It looks like one the plants has died. Yesterday the top 3-4in of the plant was droopy almost facing directly down so I cut that top part off I figured it was done anyway. The leaves were really shriveled like you can see in the picture.

I just topped this one about 4 days ago and topped one other about 2 days ago. Does anyone have a good link with pictures on how to top and prune?

I also added some ferts about a cap full per 1.5 gallons of water and used this to water all the plants one day. Gave them this mixture on 3 consecutive watering days which were 2-3 days apart.

The other 4 plants are looking fine but just want some advice on what might be the problem for this one so I don't repeat. Also should these pots be big enough through flowering and everything?

I am seeing a little bit of yellowing on a few of the leaves not very much but a few little dots here and there.

I'm not real knowledgable on soil growing but here'd be my guess.....overfert and perhaps ph.

PH is between 6.5 and 7 on all plants

would cut back on the fertilizer a little and not give them quite as much next time you feed them.
would use more water when you water the plants you should water enough to were it will start to have some run off at the bottom of the pot and then let them dry out before watering again.

I'd probably flush. Three times in a row with a capful of ferts sounds like alot to me but again.....soil is not my best class.

BUT, there's only a certain amount of things that can go wrong with your grow. For info on pot size and FIM (topping) just read around the cultivation section, you can also "search" stuff. Anyways, youll prolly want to be in a 3 gallon bucket by the end of veg. and Im an idiot who doesnt know how to post links but search the word FIM for topping:thumbsup: Good Luck!

....and oh, what do you have for lighting?

ps: I agree, flush them with 3 times the amount of water as the pot would hold STOP NUTES TOO SMALL HOW OLD?

I flushed the 1 that was dying and it just looked worse so I think I'll just hope the other 4 stay good and I won't using any ferts for a week or 2.

I did some research on pruning and got a lot of good info.

I was wondering if since the big leaves were covering all the shoots if this might have made it die? It was the biggest one with the most new shoots and all of them were covered by leaves so no light was getting to them.

I think that one dead one I am just going to put to rest and hope the rest of them continue to do well.

Anyone have an approximation when a good time to start flowering would be? I was thinking in 2-3 weeks.

Lighting is 400W HPS with wide spectrum bulb.

Okay that plant MAY actually pull through but you've run into a pretty common problem with topping. You did it too far down the stalk. When you top, pinch, or LST, you have to be very careful not to expose the part of the stalk that is hollow. Just pinch off the last inch or so of the growing tip at most, if it's the main stem. If it's a side shoot and you are taking clones, you can take much more without running into the hollow part.
The rare times when I top low down, I IMMEDIATELY put a strong clip, like a binder clip, pinching the cut end of the main stem shut again so it doesn't allow dehydration, or allow disease to enter the plant.
The others look good. I can't say for sure whether that one will make it, or if the damage has already become irreversible, but if you can pinch it shut now...
