If time is the determining factor, then Xianity can't be true, other religions have survived longer than Xianity. I doubt someone of faith would call another religion "retarded" but obviously they can't be right in someone's mind if they belong to a different faith. The longest lasting faith of today must be the correct religion, as it's stood the test of time the longest.

also, i was joking about religions banding together, its about as likely as atheists exterminating everyone (you guys better not! ). although I would say in terms of outnumbering people, 1 vs 6 isnt a fight I would personally wanna be involved in as the 1. 6 people can easily kick a single persons ass.

But I'm saying the atheists could do it in secret, the religious people would never suspect the atheists. Get it down to 4:1 or 3:1 and then hope the crowd can't coexist, like a bad tag team in wrestling

as for forcing religion, i wasn't saying actually forcing it on someone, i simply meant that for disliking preachy christians (i dont blame you, i don't like them either), many atheists are quite preachy as well.

The atheists, I do find, tend to be intellectually snobby toward the religious, but the religious are also religiously or spiritually snobby toward the atheists.

*JDmarcus, It is my belief that what is destroying the american way of life is the phoney christian we have in our nations highest office currently, and that one persons religious views should never be used to govern a nation with diverse religious views.

It's kind of difficult, actually. Imagine being in a position of power, and trying to set the morals and laws for it. You'd probably be tempted to make them as close to yours as possible, since you have a unique view on the way the world works. Not that I'm defending him, I just understand that his intentions (in certain regards) are probably good. not the ones to do about money, obviously, but anything else I would think heès trying to be somewhat decent

delusions, you really need to watch your mouth. I think the main thing for all of us is to respect each other, and well, you sound like an intolerant bitch, for lack of a better phrase. It doesn't matter how stupid you believe religion is, that is no reason to brand all the people that believe in a high power "lunatic freaks". I would like to know how you can consider believers of religion closeminded when you cant even keep a conversation civil. next time you feel like sharing your views of religion, just ask yourself... wait for it... "What would Jesus Do".

Reread what Delusions said. He just said that he is not a lunatic freak, he never mentioned anyone else being one. And he also said that its a delusional thought, so in essence he's calling himself a lunatic freak.
