jd, what exactly is the "test of time"?

the test of time means just that, The test of time. many men have tried to come up against and the have failed to put out its light. the bible stiil stands on a Rock that can not be moved.
jesus said that heaven and earth may pass away, but my Word
will not pass away. But God has given us free will, we can chose
not to belive if we want. many men chose to belive in there own
philosophy about life and that is there right, but what will it profit
a man to gain the whole world, but lose his own soul.

The "Test of Time" is usually a "test" in which an object, person, or subject is discussed or critiqued over a long period of time, but many people still have faith in the object/person regardless. In this case, the Bible. It has gone through much controversy, but MANY people still hold to their faith, and it is still widely distributed, even after two thousand years.

Has nothing to do with me. I didn't hide the tomb two thousand years ago. (But whoever did hide it, they did a pretty good job - it stayed hidden a very long time.) I didn't find the tomb either, and I won't be analyzing it. I've never even been to Israel. It's just an interesting footnote to history to me, however it turns out.

I wonder, if that is Jesus that they found, if it will be possible to extract DNA from a corpse that old. Now *that* would be cool. I mean, that really *would* be a second coming, of a sort, if they cloned him and created a new Baby Jesus. Could even sell Jesus DNA on ebay, let every Christian buy one! I hear Jesus clones do good carpentry work. Heh.

Just my 3 cents, but perhaps if so many people still believe in the bible, there might be somthing to it? Im not saying its all 100% fact, but at the very least its a good book that preaches good morals (not the ones that people twist into political agendas) and decency towards our fellow man (im not saying all christians are decent, but at least the new testament preaches it)

As for atheism, it is pretty outnumbered as the VAST majority believe in some higher power, and if the atheists banded together, the christians, jews, muslims, buddhists, hindus, druids, and hippys that worship weed would band together and WTFPWN everyone. If religions fight so fiercly against each other, god help anyone that gets all religions against them

It seems that for people that hate religion forced upon them, you guys are quick to do the same thing with atheism.

also, JDmarc, it isnt a good idea to try to back up your beliefs with scripture when arguing with atheists. Thats like the government using anti weed propaganda in an argument with anyone from this site, rofl.

you make a good point by using scripure to prove a point in a discusion aganst a atheist, but we belive that the word is living

This is of course assuming that Xianity or something similar is correct. It's entirely possible that you can be an atheist and reap the benefits of an eternal happiness of sorts, as long as Xianity isn't true.

Well im a pretty firm believer that this is the only life you get and you should live it to the fullest. Regardless if your religious or not. I just find that as an Atheist I feel an extra need to really do it all b/c shit, this is my one and ONLY shot. Theres nothing after I die. So do it ALL. Of course that doesnt mean becoming some nutjub on hard drugs and shit. B/c I feel that wouldnt help but indeed hinder that one life I have to live.
