This is craziness! Just reading all of these spirituality posts. Its like a huge virtual tug-o-war.

I say, as an atheist and someone whos kinda a third party in this thread, that theres no need for low blows and all this holier than thou crap. If you believe in god, then great. But keep that shit to yourselves and vice versa to any other religious stuff out there. Especially in the real world.

And this thread was doomed from the start btw with the crazy CAPS IN EVERYTHING THAT WAS TYPED. It doesnt make you look any more credible.

Why argue? Its not like someones going to "converted" on a freaking pot board room. hey, if you think that so and so is going to hell then let them go. And if you think their misguided nut jobs then think that too but let the other person get whats comming to them.

Wrong-You burn in hell
Right-You had a very kick ass life not worrying about some magical man in the sky. You enjoyed all of lifes pleasures without fear and persecution.

Religious and your:
Right-You get eternal bliss for however long and then well, their not quite sure the bible says 1,000 years of peace and then no one knows. But hell, im sure its grand.
Wrong- You wasted your whole life. Your ONLY life on this little green and blue planet. And you spent the whole thing in a underlying fear of hell. You fell for the oldest trick in the book and MAYBE, just MAYBE you helped kill other cultures and people who didnt agree

a wasted life? yes I lived a wasted life, I lived a wasted life by living my life by my own rules, by the way I saw fit, it was a wasted life filled with divorce where people were hurt, caues I

lived by what I belived to be right, it was a wasted life cause i was a drug addict,where a lot of people got hurt, but I did not care, all I cared about was my next fix, and yes it was a wasted
life cause i faught the law and the law one, so I spent years wasting my life in prison. I could go on and on but I wont.

but then I had a change of heart, I met the Lord, but He did not burded me with a bunch of dos and donts, he only told me to love my neighbor as my self, was not always easy, but He gave me the love to do it with......A wasted life? thank God that he has set me free from a wasted life.

Well im a pretty firm believer that this is the only life you get and you should live it to the fullest. Regardless if your religious or not. I just find that as an Atheist I feel an extra need to really do it all b/c shit, this is my one and ONLY shot. Theres nothing after I die. So do it ALL. Of course that doesnt mean becoming some nutjub on hard drugs and shit. B/c I feel that wouldnt help but indeed hinder that one life I have to live.

But heres my question, if gods waiting to open you into the pearly gates with open arms how come your not running twords him?

This is of course assuming that Xianity or something similar is correct. It's entirely possible that you can be an atheist and reap the benefits of an eternal happiness of sorts, as long as Xianity isn't true.

Well I was assuming we were talking about christianity and those affiliated. But yeah, I suppose you could be atheist or agnostic or whatever and if there is another religion out there that is supreme (wiccanism or budhism maybe) then I guess the atheists would fall into those categories.
