Do you harvest the buds selectively on the plant? My buds are all over the board: some have trichomes that are definitely turning amber, and others are a mixture of cloudy and clear?

woodstock was great, i went and i was also 19 atm. i dont have my ticket but i did find a bowl and a cool feather on the ground. plus i had a woodstock dollar and a little more memorabillia but all were given away as gifts. talk about some hungry kids after the event. i got to see henry rollins, metallica, aerosmith, greenday,NIN, mellissa etheridge, the son of the guitar player from crosby stills and nash and tom arnold(lol) im glad i made it. ive never seen a tent where you can buy pancakes and get your nose pierced in the same place since.(or the dreaded mud people) we stunk so bad when we got home our friends parents burned all blankets as soon as we got home. the splatter paint guy was hot too(he painted and everyone went oooooh when he put the final stroke on it) if you watch the video, we are behind the guy with the big alligator head. lol
you can selectively harvest your buds if thats what you need but you usually do it all at once. yours look pretty amber, but it might be the light.

Some people harvest selectively. You can actually flower forever this way.
I cut em all down at 10% amber, 90% cloudy.

And don't forget: amber means THC degridation is setting in.

Many folks harvest buds as they ripen, or harvest their tops and leave the lower buds to mature a bit longer. Try taking one with all cloudy trichs and wait on one until they're all amber, see what difference it makes with your strain.

Yes, it's WW at 7 weeks. BTW, any info/input is cool, the more the merrier.

:stoned:Oddly enough, it was the lower and internal buds that have matured first. This Afghan was started in mid February; it went into a brief flowering stage in late March, then went back into a veg period. I just tried a small bowl of the sample that has dried for a week from the ealy buds. It's very potent!!!

Is this true?? Say I had a super fast growing indica that was harvested at say 1 bud every 3-4 Days, Would those lateral branching nodes that seem to stop growing continue to form once major buds were removed?? Like the plant now has roots to support more branching than it has?

I'm interested cause I've never done that selective harvest.

Very true. I think it is worth emphasizing, as IR mentioned, that THC is not the only psychoactive compound, however. CBN (the stuff THC turns into through oxidation) and CBD are both psychoactive themselves. More amber trichomes = more CBN and CBD, which seem to be much more useful medically.

I think that the stigma of "THC degredation" has gotten a little out of control, as some people actually think that mostly amber trichomes indicate that the harvest window has passed, or the potency is severely degraded. While the THC potency is significantly less, the concentration and potency of CBN and CBD are many times higher than they are in cloudy trichomes. Still, most people not using it medically seem to go with fewer amber trichomes thus leaning away from couchlock.(−)-(6aR,10aR)-6,6,9-trimethyl-3-pentyl-6a,7,8,10a-tetrahydro-6H-benzo[c]chromen-1-ol
