High potency is NOT the same as high quality

I was a bit dissapointed with my latest pickup. Sure its dank as hell, (some of the strongest ive ever had) but I can tell the grower is a noob, or just careless. There were a few fan leaves left on the buds, and it was overall poorly manicured. Also, I dont think he even bothered to cure it after drying, as it doesnt smell too great, and smokes harsh. I can also tell the grower didnt flush the plant before harvesting.

Which leads me to my point.

I would rather have less potent, but perfectly grown, dried, and cured bud, as opposed to super SUPER dank bud that was carelessley handled and prepared. For me potency and quality do NOT mean the same thing.

Im going to cure it for a few weeks, and after that it should be tasty.

    Your thoughts? Comments?

Curing should make it better, do you know what strain it was, maybe they sold it right after drying it so it hasn't had a chance to cure, does it have a chlorophyl (sp!) taste

Yeah just cure it. Ussually my bud is quality+potency, but occasionally its a bit leafy and not cured as well as I would like. Anyways I think I might go with quality if it was still good. Part of the experience with weed is ingesting it, and unless you are cooking with it, flavor and smoke harshness matters.

Sounds to me like you think its shitty bud. If Its shitty bud (to you) then it is shitty bud Preiod. Would you be happier with a QP of Mexi Brick, for the same price? Dont buy it if you dont like it. You could have put that money towards a nice HPS and some seeds. Sorry About this post I am A nice guy but its your money and your call.

I let a friend snag my excess, for half street price, covers some electric bills and such. I do not, however, cure it for him. I mean, I could, it wouldn't bother me any to do it, but when I tell him, 'Hey, I got about a spare 10 Os of Jock Horror, want any? If so, want me to sit on it for a month and cure it?' He always says, 'Dude, it's *dry*, I ain't waiting a month, gimme that, now!' Apparently, nobody wants to go dry while I sit on stuff for a month to cure it. But in every other way, it's usually great, well-flushed, well-manicured, well-dried, potent, harvested at the optimal time. Not my fault if people don't wanna wait on the curing.
