SLM there are many types of arthritis. I have been participating in a study and one of the drugs in the cocktail is cannabis. It is a university study and I can tell you that the combination works. Lots of arguments between the doctors about what component is doing what. I am told the study will die at some point because the Federal branch does not like to fund projects of this nature and the State funding is almost gone. I do not know you or your history but I will tell you that NSAIDS and cox inhibitors like Vioxx and Celebrex will leave you with damage. If you can get access to the "Save Access" pamphlet on Arthritis, it will explain the different types and things that might work for you. My regular doctor swears by it. He is not a pot doctor and has never prescribed it before but when he saw the blood work, he said he didn't care if it were moon rocks that did it, something worked. He sent me off to the University. Again I don't know your variety and your mileage may vary but the alternatives for me are heavy cancer drugs. They are no fun. I don't know if you live in a legal state but they do have some really good advances in arthritis treatment.
