Arthritis in fingers?

Hi, does anyone have problems with Arthritis in your fingers? Mine are killing me and I was wondering about anyone elses experiences with smoking on their fingers. Thanks!

i read that some specific strains help with arthritis, its somewhere in the medical section

There does seem to be diference in starins when it comes to arthritis.Some seems to help with the arthritis in my knees and others don't help at all.

There was a bit in a book I read long ago that documented how little old ladies in Mexico would take buds, soak them in tequilla and use it as a rub for arthritic hands. Don't know how well it would work, but you might want to try it! If all else fails, you can still make canna-margaritas with it! Plus you might find some info in these.- Granny:hippy:

I have arthritis just in one nuckle on my index finger, find it flares up mainly in damp/cold weather. Usually massaging it and applying some ice helps somewhat, but when it comes right down to it anti-inflammatories are the only thing that really helps. Have you ever tried celebrex?

I am on anti-inflamatories, but when it comes to my fingers, a different story altogether. When I went to see the doctor to get medical marijuana, I was chatting with the receptionist and she was telling me about a rub you make by taking WINTERGREEN rubbing alchohol and adding 2-3 tablespoons of marijuana. Let it soak for about 2 weeks, then strain out the marijuana and use the rub for pain. She told me to ask the doctor about it, which I did and he told me to come back in 3 months and by then I will be ready for other uses, but he wouldn't offer up any further information about it. The receptionist also told me about a time she told a much older woman about the rub and the woman told her she had been doing that for 30 years!

Yes, that would work. Wintergreen has aspirin-like compounds in in and has been used as a folk remedy for arthritis for a long time. Combining the two herbs would be good!

I believe the doctor may be "playing" you to get more visits out of you! How much is it- $100? $150? a visit? To be honest, the cannabis experts are HERE and on the medical MJ boards! Often, it is a case of the patients teaching the doctors about this herb. I like the helpful receptionist and am unhappy with the doctor for not answering your simple, legit question. My "cannabis specialist" answered all of my rather complicated questions and we had a nice chat. I think you may want to switch doctors or at least look around.- Granny:hippy:

I can see where it appears the doctor was trying to scam me, but it wasn't like that at all. The fee to see the doctor was $160 and that is for a year worth of free visits.

SLM there are many types of arthritis. I have been participating in a study and one of the drugs in the cocktail is cannabis. It is a university study and I can tell you that the combination works. Lots of arguments between the doctors about what component is doing what. I am told the study will die at some point because the Federal branch does not like to fund projects of this nature and the State funding is almost gone. I do not know you or your history but I will tell you that NSAIDS and cox inhibitors like Vioxx and Celebrex will leave you with damage. If you can get access to the "Save Access" pamphlet on Arthritis, it will explain the different types and things that might work for you. My regular doctor swears by it. He is not a pot doctor and has never prescribed it before but when he saw the blood work, he said he didn't care if it were moon rocks that did it, something worked. He sent me off to the University. Again I don't know your variety and your mileage may vary but the alternatives for me are heavy cancer drugs. They are no fun. I don't know if you live in a legal state but they do have some really good advances in arthritis treatment.
