DENVER â?? Voters can expect to decide marijuana policy in the city this fall. It will be the third time in as many years voters have been asked about the topic.

Supporters of a ballot initiative to make adult marijuana possession the lowest enforcement priority for the Denver Police Department have gathered enough signatures to send the measure to the November ballot. Denver's City Council could enact the measure into law instead of sending it to voters, but that is considered highly unlikely.

Mason Tvert, the initiative's spokesperson, said the group needed just under 4,000 signatures from valid Denver voters to qualify for the ballot and that city officials confirmed roughly 5,900 signatures on the petitions they turned in earlier this month.
