NORML -- 165 Members of Congress Stand Up For Medi-Pot patients -- Thank Them Now!
Only one of our state reps "greg walden" voted against.
Every other rep was in favor of ending federal raids on the medical marijuana community in 11 states including oregon. Also on the norml website, are all of the bills, initiaves ect currently up and that one is not listed "initiative 104" But even if slipped by norml, with all but 1 of our state reps in favor of medical use, how could it even begin to get passed? I am not versed in politics so i feel that would be a valid question. and could you find a better link?
The problem is, it's a ballot initiative that may go to the voters, not a bill that would go to the legislators.
If it gets on the ballot, a lot of voters may think it's really an anti crime bill and vote for it, not realizing that it will even affect medical marijuana.
This is a seriously dangerous initiative.
psteve Reviewed by psteve on . Oregon Medical Marijuana in Danger! initiative 104 is also known as the Crime Fighting Act of 2004. It is sponsored by Kevin Mannix a Republican who has run for govenor twice. This is a very long bill. It deals with meth, child predators, and basically tries to be "tough on crime." It tries to sneak past the fact that it will repeal medical mj by making the bill incredibiley long. Anyone who lives in Oregon needs to fight this bill. The movement has experienced several setbacks recently and this would be horrible. People who Rating: 5
