What's jail or prison like???

IF anyone has been to jail or even prison could they share thoughts about it?

I can only speak for English prisons but I would advise you to try to stay out of any prison.

Is it like the movies?

Sometimes I suppose.

is it all that bad?

I hated the boredom of it and of course the limitations.

Gang culture doesn't really exist in English prisons like it does in the US but one on one fights happen all the time. I got attacked by a guy with a massive pipe wrench in the workshop . I saw him coming and sidestepped him , I tripped him over and pounced on him while he was face down. I was grabbed from behind by the screws (guards) and I got a kicking from them in solitary as did the other guy. I still have no idea why he attacked but I think I might have told him to fuck off when he asked me for snout (tobacco) the day before.

do ppl get fucked up by other inmates or is that just TV?

Yes, you'd be amazed how inventive cons can be when it comes to weapons.
