    Mantras you live by?

[align=center]life sucks, but it's infinitely more interesting than the alternative.

    Mantras you live by?

"What goes around comes around." Which is really just a paraphrase of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." That's worked pretty well for me all my life: the more kindness I dish out, the more I seem to get back.

I can even give an example, sort of. The woman was out of town visiting relatives for a few days last week. Well, I was really happy when she got back, picked her up at the airport. Woman went to the bathroom and had me wait for her luggage to come around. While waiting there, an older lady asked me for help with *her* luggage, me, the long-haired hippy guy standing in the midst of piles of suit-wearing guys. But I was glad to help her out, got all three of her (heavy ass) pieces of luggage for her.

Then we got my woman's luggage and on the way home, we stopped by Quiznos and I bought us some kickass prime rib and peppercorn subs. I told her about the lady asking for help with her luggage, and she said I had an aura of kindness around me, that she had noticed it too. Then the Quiznos cashier just flat out gave us some free sodas, out of the blue.

I guess I was just full of kindness and happiness that day or something, but people were definitely reacting to it, even strangers. It was kinda freaky really.

lighten up while you still can, don't even try to understand
just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy.

Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey knew a good "mantra" when they wrote one!

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
    Everything eventually comes full circle.
You teach people how to treat you.
    Practice random acts of kindness.
Learn from the mistakes of others.
Drive it like you stole it!
